Do I need to include a cover letter with my online application?

Rest assured cover letters are not required or preferred. Due to the large number of submissions received daily, including only a resume is perfect for our Recruiters.

The position and location I’m interested in isn’t listed on the Career Opportunities page. How can I be notified the next time the job becomes available?

You can sign up for a job alert by clicking on any job description that interests you on careers.southwestair.com and activating the “Get notified for similar jobs” email alerts.

I received a confirmation email for my Flight Attendant job submission; however my dashboard says “you have not submitted your profile to any jobs.” What happened?

You won’t be able to see your application in the main dashboard; you’ll need to be logged in to the Flight Attendant job portal.  Here's a link to take you right there. Let us reassure you that if you received a confirmation email, you are good to go!

My Recruiter sent a link to fill out employment forms (Employment Application, Background Check Consent/Disclosure, Offer Letter, etc.), but once I click the link I’m redirected to a page that says “Error: You do not have permission to access the requested iForm.” What should I do?

This may occur if you have already completed this iForm or if the token has expired. Try logging directly into your job seeker account via the shortcut below that best describes the area of the business the job is in. The form(s) will be on your dashboard under iForms to Complete.

Airport Positions (May also include administrative positions in an airport)

Inflight/Flight Attendants (May also include administrative and leadership positions at an Inflight base)

Pilot/Flight Operations (May also include positions at the Flight Operations training center)

Customer Support & Services (Call Center/Reservations)

Corporate Careers (Typically positions located in Dallas at our Headquarters building)

Aircraft Maintenance/Technical Operations (May also include administrative positions at a Maintenance base)

My dashboard shows I’ve successfully applied to a position; however I haven’t received a confirmation email. What should I do?

The email could be stuck in your spam folder. To ensure delivery of our messages to your inbox, you can add our Southwest.com/careers vendor address (agents.icims.com) to your address book or safe senders list.

What is considered my dashboard?

Your dashboard is the first page you get to after logging into your job seeker account. It’s your landing page, from which you can update your profile, search for career opportunities, manage email subscriptions (search agents), and view past job submittals.

Can I call or email someone regarding the status of a submitted application?

We love that you’re excited to hear from Southwest. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide individual updates; however, your application status is on your dashboard. Once we’ve filled the position, the job status will change to “closed.” “Under Review” means we’re still in the process of reviewing candidates. Please be assured all applications submitted online are carefully reviewed by our Recruiting Team, but we do receive a high volume of applications. Only the most competitive applicants will be contacted for an interview.

I’m still waiting for a call from a Recruiter, but I noticed the position is posted on Southwest.com/careers again. Can I apply to the new posting?

Yes. As long as you’re not applying to the same requisition number, you’re more than welcome to submit a new job bid.

What is a job bid?

A job bid is an expression of interest in a particular job and location.

I was unable to apply before the position closed. Is there anything I can do?

Unfortunately not. In order to remain consistent in our hiring practices and to be fair to all applicants, we are unable to accept a resume after a position has closed. We accept applications for a specific position, and only when the job listing is active on our Careers page

Continue to check careers.southwestair.com for the next posting and/or sign up for a job alert on any job description page.

Can I be considered for a position that isn’t posted on careers.southwestair.com?

No. In order to remain consistent in our hiring practices and to be fair to all applicants, we only accept applications for open positions listed under Search Results.

Continue to check careers.southwestair.com for the next posting and/or sign up for a job alert on any job description page.

I thought I had successfully submitted my job bid, but my dashboard shows “Incomplete.” Will I still be considered for the position?

An application and resume are not received in our system until the website indicates the application is complete. We’re unable to view job bids in an “incomplete” status.

I accidentally answered a question incorrectly and it knocked me out of consideration. Can I go back and change it?

Unfortunately, once an application is submitted, we’re unable to make changes. Continue to check careers.southwestair.com for the next posting and/or sign up for a job alert on any job description page.
